ROLE MODEL OF THE WEEK : WARDA OMAR
Leo kwenye Safu yetu ya Role Model of The Week tunaye Warda Omar Mohamed ,binti wa miaka 20 ambaye ni upcoming fashion designer anaekuja kwa juu, i got a chance to interview her, she is indeed amazing young lady ,with focus and determination to her carrier , 
HE: Kwa muda gani you have been creating clothing? Kwanini and how did you start your own line?
Warda:Professional nimeanza mwezi wa kumi ila kabla ya hapo nilikua ninajibunia mwemyewe kwa mavazi yangu.
Na fashion design ni kitu ambayo ni passion kwangu nilikua nina craziness flani ya kuwa katika hio tasnia so i made it happen .
Well nina biashara yangu nyingine ambayo ndio inaniingizia pesa nzuri ndio iloniwezesha kujimudu kuanza fashion line yangu ambayo kwa kupitia tamasha la fahari ya mwafrika niliweza kuizindua
HE: Tell us about Malkia, What’s the story behind it, what’s the philosophy? What makes Malkia?
Warda:
Actually my mother played a great role in selecting the name.Malkia is a swahili word which means Queen, And being A Tanzanian it is a word which attracted me with the aim to give royalty feeling to the women.All women Are Queen in their own unique way and i want to express that through my designs for them.
HE: Tuambie kuhusu brand yako, what exactly do you create.
Warda:
Mara nyingi nina buni nguo ambazo zinakua suitable kuvaliwa kwenye shughuli mbalimbali, kwa sababu kwenye ubunifu wa nguo kuna ule wa very creative kama wanavyofanya nchi za nje ambazo zinakua ni ngumu kuvaa kwenye mazingira ya kawaida especially hapa nchini so huwa nina avoid.Nakua nafikiria ordinary design ambayo naitengeneza iwe extra ordinary.
HE: Ilikuaje ukashiriki Swahili Fashion Week 2015?
Warda: Kabla hata sija launch my clothing line nilikua natamani kupitisha nguo zangu katika sfw platform ambapo nikaambiwa they offer platform for emerging designers ila in a form of competition.So i thought i will go for it just so nipate exposure,where as mpaka uchaguliwe kuwa mmoja wao lazma uoneshe fashion illustration nzuri na wakati naambiwa nilikua sijui hata kuchora so nikajiwekea goal kua by the time i have to present my illustration nitakua nishajua kuchora.and end of the day nikawa selected kua mmoja wa emerging designer.
HE: Unatoa wapi materials zako unazotumia kudesign nguo?
Warda:
From tandika kuna duka moja ambalo huwa naenda kuchukua materials na pia akileta mzigo mpya tu kutoka dubai anani julisha au nikiwa nina order of some kind of material ambayo hana huwa anani agizia
HE:Where do you see yourself and your brand in few years?
Warda:
Malkia will definitely be international.It will be in London fashion week, Paris Fashion week and Malkia-fy the Hollywood celebrities. That's the Next Big Goal.
HE: how has your work evolved since you began your own label
Warda:
I must say sfw 2015 gave me big exposure i get orders for custom- tailoring for people since i Don't have a store yet so i get online orders. It's going amazing especially for the line which is in for the less than 5 months . I'm thankful to God.
HE:According to you , kuna vigezo vya lazima ili kuweza kuwa fashion designer?
Warda:
Fashion Design is an art unacho hitaji ni good imagination.Yani uwe na uwezo wa kubuni nguo mpaka watu wajiulize hivi huyu kafikiria nini.Na kabla hujai transform your imagination to live outfit, inabidi uiweke kwenye mchoro.uwe mchoro mzuri au mbaya as long as unaeleweka you are good to go.Ila imagination is the Key.
HE:Je familia yako inaku support?
Warda: 100%. Especially my mother.Anani support sana like I said earlier yeye ndio aliye come up with the name Malkia.Everything i do 55% ni kwa sababu ya support nayopata kutoka kwa mama. Infact aliniambia nilikua na tabia ya kumpelekea fundi kitambaa na kumpa mshono anishonee when i was 5 years, na alikua ananiachs nimueleze fundi nguo ninayo taka anishonee.
HE: Unadesign na kushona mwenyewe ama una mafundi wanakusaidia kushona,
Warda: Well nina mafundi wangu ambao huwa wananishonea but hopefully by the end of this year nitakua nina shona mwenyewe.
HE: Je ni changamoto zipi unakutana nazo?
Warda:
So far sijakutana na changamoto yoyote, sijui kwa sababu I'm excited doing it au haija tokea kitu cha kunikwaza.Nilipokelewa kwa upendo sana katika Fashion Industry with Mustafa Hassanali and team God bless them.
HE: what would you like to achieve before the end of the year?
Warda: Because this year I'm going to take part Again in sfw as upcoming designer so I'm hoping to get more exposure For Malkia and win the trophy for upcoming designer 2016.
HE: What is your definition of success in life?
Warda:
Is when You Aim for being a better self in all aspects not only Financially especially when you face challenges and you choose not to give up.
HE: Ushauri gani unawapa designer wadogo na wale ambao wanataka kuingia kwenye industry ya fashion?
Warda:
Unajua designers chipukizi wengi wanataka wakisha ingia things should go on point.but it doesn't work that way. It takes time kujulikana, it takes time kukubaliwa as long as you are persistence on it ipo siku you will get noticed. So they should go for it without thinking what if it don't work out, but they should think what if it work out .
HE: How would you describe your personal fashion style?
Warda:
I like keeping it simple by wearing casual outfits a normal teenager wears with less make up. I don't glam up mostly unless it's reaaalllly big occasion.
HE: Whats next for you professionally
Warda:
I am a girl who takes up as many opportunities as i can to have streams of income . I'm 20 and i own 2 business which I still find it less so I'm looking into another opportunities. So in general there's no limit of what i can do.
HE: How would you relate past and present fashion trends

Fashion was not taken seriously back then but now Everyone is aware of what's going on . example the colours since 2016 started i noticed people take 2016 color very serious.Also people are more aware of how to match their outfits and accessories.its impressive that even men take their casual fashion sense very serious.
HE: Unafanya nini kingine apart from fashion designing
Warda:
Well I'm a student pale Financial Training centre I'm taking ACCA, also I own my business which deals with health And lifestyle with A dynamic company called Forever Living.
